Fishing holidays in Wales

Nhe Tynycornel hotel is situated in a magnificent spot, adjacent to the 220 acre Talyllyn lake and below the mountains of Cader Idris.  The hotel lies in the south west corner of the Snowdonia National Park and in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Tynycornel Hotel was  built in 1844 as a fishing hotel but now attracts more and more walkers to this tranquil area.  Both groups and individuals are catered for.

Brown trout and fishing flies

Talyllyn is at the head of the Dysynni valley and the river flows westwards to the sea in Cardigan Bay. The valley provides a wealth of walking options, suitable for all ages and ability. Derelict slate quarries, waterfalls, castles, churches and a narrow gauge railway can all be encountered on your walks. The Cader Idris range provides challenging walking in all seasons. Over the ridge is the Mawddach river and estuary providing further magnificent walks from the easy Mawddach trail, following a disused railway to the traverse of the Cader Idris peak. A little further afield are the Arran and Rhinog ranges. A glimpse at Ordinance survey map 124 refs 714094 gives a flavour of the area.

The hotel has been refurbished in 2006, whilst retaining its traditional ambiance.

We cater for individuals, families and groups. For groups we can provide a package deal to include dinner, bed and breakfast with packed lunches.

On non walking days the beaches at Tywyn and Aberdovey are 10 miles. The Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway 3 miles and the market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth 10 miles .
